EHS has limited visitation only for shelter cats. See details under "Adopt a Cat"

Adopt a Cat

All of our cats come fully vaccinated, spayed or neutered and have received vet care so adopters have all the necessary information about a cat’s health at the time of adoption.

They’re all ready to find a forever home and are just waiting for the perfect person to love.

Scroll down to see all of our available cats. Read through their profiles to find the right fit for your family.

Visiting Hours

Come see our amazing cats in person! We have visiting hours from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday. Meet the different cats in the shelter and also learn about our cats in foster care so we can find your perfect match.

Have questions? Email us at cats@etobicokehumanesociety.com.

Our Adoption Process

Review the Cat’s Profile by Clicking on their Photo

Each cat has a unique personality so we encourage potential parents to take the time to carefully review the bios below and consider whether the cat might be a fit for their home. Be on the lookout for certain requirements that some of our cats need in their future home (eg. a feline companion or experienced owner).

Fill Out an On-Line Adoption Application

Once you find a cat who seems like a fit, please fill out the “Cat Adoption Form” linked on this page. EHS is entirely run by volunteers and we are not able to respond to all applications at this time. If the cat you have applied for is available and we think you might be a good fit, we will email you within 3 days of your application. Please check your spam/junk mail folder.

Initial Phone Interview

Once we have reviewed your application, an adoption application coordinator will reach out to you via email to schedule a phone call to find out a little more about you and share more information about the cat. This conversation is a good opportunity for both of us to get a sense of whether the cat is a good match.

Meet and Greet

If we both agree that the cat may be a good fit for your household, we will schedule a meet & greet. For cats at the shelter, meet & greets may be done in person. For most cats in foster, this meeting will happen virtually. If both you and the foster family are comfortable with in person visits, you may have the option to meet the cat in person at the foster home.

Final Adoption Interview

The final adoption interview includes all household members. Once you have been approved to adopt, we will finalize all documentation/payment electronically and schedule a date and time for you to pick up your new best friend.
Cat Adoption Form
EHS has visiting hours, only for cats who are at our shelter. Visiting hours are 2-6pm on Saturday & Sunday. If you'd like to adopt a cat or dog (including one of our special dogs), please apply online and one of our volunteers will contact you.
