Sparkle and twirl just like Tutu!
Tutu is a handsome boy who was surrendered to EHS after a family member developed severe allergies to him. He is described as a calm guy who is happy to hang out and “twirl” around with you. Need an office “assistant” to keep you company during your workday? Tutu has experience in that role! This boy is “tutu” cute and is looking to land in his forever home with a proper grande jeté. Wouldn’t we all like to see that!
About Tutu
- In foster
- Tutu’s foster parent reports that it doesn’t take long for him to become relaxed in a new space. At his latest accommodation, he first took “long, sniffy laps” to explore and then was quick to make himself comfortable and right at home.
- Tutu is a sweet boy who can be pet by hand, but please don’t touch his belly! He especially loves cheek rubs and if he wants more attention (or food), he isn’t shy about letting you know with a head-butt.
- Speaking of food…Tutu loves it, both his food and yours, so don’t leave yours unattended. He will help himself! You will also know if he is still hungry at the end of his meal because he will keep licking his food dish even if there is no food left!
- Tutu gets his dry food in a food puzzle, so that he doesn’t eat it so fast.
- He enjoys playing with wand toys, a laser light, and spring toys that he can bat around with his paws.
- Tutu is a bit of a “fancy feline” who is good with being brushed and will even tolerate a nail trim!
- When it is time to rest up, you will probably find him on the couch or on the highest level of his cat tree, just like a true cat tree dweller.
- Tutu can be a cuddly cat, but prefers to sit close by, instead of on your lap.
- This is an alert to coffee drinkers; Tutu has been known to dip his paw into his foster’s coffee to make sure that it tastes okay. Unless you want this free service, it might be best to keep your coffee (and snacks) out of his reach!
- Tutu loves to make biscuits—too bad they aren’t the kind that he could eat!
- In reference to Tutu, his foster family says “tout le monde l’aime” (everyone loves him).
- Tutu has been neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.
Tutu’s Ideal Home
- Tutu can jump really high, so it would be ideal to have spaces at different heights for him to safely explore.
- Tutu has had some exposure to children and he pretty much ignored them.
- He has lived with two calm cats in a previous home, so Tutu may be okay with a cat companion, but he has had no exposure to dogs.
- Given his love of food, it’s not surprising that Tutu is prone to gaining weight. Previously, Tutu weighed 22 pounds, but he now weighs almost half that. This weight loss was achieved over a two year period and is maintained by him continuing to be on a weight management diet.
- Due to the expected number of applications for Tutu, we are prioritizing applicants who can provide a vet reference in their name, as the primary owner.
