Jasper is a total gem!

Seriously, he rocks! Jasper is a friendly, free-spirited sweetheart who’s back with second shot at a forever home. He was originally adopted years ago, but due to allergies in the home, his family had to make the tough call to let him go. They loved him dearly and wanted the very best for him—and now he’s ready to charm his way into a new heart.

About Jasper

  • In foster
  • Jasper is a smart, affectionate boy with a very cute way of asking for love. He’ll gently tap your face with his paw to ask for a head kiss and cheek rub. (Yes, you are required to comply!)
  • Brains and charm! This clever kitty knows how sit and give fist bumps thanks to clicker training. He also enjoys sitting upright on boxes like a tiny statue.
  • He’s not a wild child, but he does enjoy a good zoomie session around the house, and some playtime with bouncy balls, wand toys, the laser pointer, and automatic motion toys. But his favourite activity is being a lap cat (or lap-adjacent cat with a paw touching his human) and purring his heart out.
  • When he’s not curled up on or near his people, Jasper’s favourite napping spot is at the top of his window-side cat tree.
  • Food is life. Jasper is highly food motivated, and will bestow purrs to those who feed him!
  • Jasper considers himself head of home security. He is very protective, running to the door to investigate visitors, but with a calm, proper introduction, he settles in just fine. He simply needs to feel safe and calm.
  • This sweet fella has a lot of big feelings! His favourite way to calm down? A back-scratcher! Tap it on the floor to redirect any of Jasper’s fear or agitation, and he’ll come running for head and cheek pets instead of worrying.
  • Jasper takes daily anti-anxiety medication to help him stay calm, but he still needs support from his people to help him manage some of his triggers—especially when exciting “hunter mode” things get his attention.
  • Jasper is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and has received core vaccinations.

Jasper's Ideal Home

  • Jasper needs a quiet, spacious home with no small children or other pets, and few visitors.
  • Transitions to new environments are difficult for Jasper, so adopters need to be prepared (treats help!), but once he has settled, he will show his loving side.
  • He’s not suitable for first-time adopters. Jasper needs a person who is experienced with cat behaviour, and who won’t be concerned if there is hissing, swatting, or biting.
  • Jasper is available on a foster-to-adopt basis. Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help him settle into his new environment. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Jasper with a successful transition to his forever home.

If you think Jasper would make a rock-solid pal, he will bring the protection if you bring the stability! Contact EHS to meet Jasper today.
