"Ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony." Ebony the cat is all in!
Ebony, a stunning girl with a shiny coat worthy of many a compliment, has made the trip east to EHS having left her past behind. While she waits to meet her forever family, Ebony is charming our shelter volunteers with her sweet personality.
About Ebony
- At shelter
- Ebony has spent time with volunteers at the shelter and in foster, and we’ve learned a lot about this lovely lady.
- Ebony is affectionate and curious, greeting anyone who enters her kennel.
- She is definitely a lap cat and is eager to try any lap that is offered. Ebony will settle down and enjoy a brief nap or might decide she wants pets, nudging gently if she wants more.
- She’s 80 percent sweetness and 20 percent spiciness. Managing her spicy side is the key to living harmoniously with her forever family.
- While in a foster home, Ebony displayed her spicy nature around meals, food preparation, and unexpected sounds such as speakerphone conversations.
- She takes daily medication to help manage her stress.
- She loves people and also her independence; Ebony will approach and meow to ask for attention. When she has had enough, she will wander away. Sometimes she might give a gentle bite or soft swat to let you know that she wishes to end the pets. Potential adopters are encouraged to pay attention to her body language to keep interactions positive.
- It is best to approach Ebony slowly and quietly, letting her control the interaction, as she is easily startled by noises and sudden movements.
- She has been seen playing with a catnip toy, tossing it here and there, scurrying after it, and tossing it again. It’s a joy to see what fun she is having!
- Ebony is very food motivated and will never say no to a treat, Churu being at the top of her list. Who can blame her for that?
- Ebony is looking for a home with adopters who will understand that she may become agitated or triggered when overstimulated.
- She is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.
Ebony’s Ideal Home
- Ebony will do best in a quiet environment with a predictable routine. She will need an experienced cat owner who can read her body language.
- She prefers a home without children or other cats.
- EHS will offer a short foster-to-adopt period before finalizing the adoption to assist Ebony with successfully transitioning into a forever home. During this time, our skilled volunteers will offer support to the potential adopters as they get to know Ebony and help ensure everyone settles in comfortably together.
