Gentle Max was transferred from an overcrowded municipal shelter when they figured out he was diabetic and couldn’t provide the care he needed long-term. He arrived in foster and settled himself in right away!
About Max
In foster
Max enjoys being brushed and maintaining his glorious coat!
He is a gentle giant who loves spending time with his people! He settled into his space right away.
Max is a quirky boy who loves licking his person—among various other objects—to show his appreciation for them. It’s his own personalized love language! His foster says that she has never been more exfoliated in her life!
Max nips to communicate but is learning to use other ways to share his feelings.
He is not overly playful, but will engage in “lazy play” where he’ll bat at wand toys while lounging around. He is also fond of cat TV!
This gentleman enjoys being spoken to—whether that’s soft talking or singing! He calms down once he hears a reassuring voice.
Max has diabetes; caring for this long-term includes daily insulin injections, monitoring blood sugar, and feeding a strictly diabetic diet. Max is tolerant of his injections and enjoys his food.
Max is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.
Max's Ideal Home
We do not know how Max would do with other cats or animals.
Due to his tendency to nip, Max would not do well in a home with young children.
Because Max has diabetes, EHS will offer an optional short foster-to-adopt period before finalizing the adoption to assist Max with successfully transitioning into a forever home. During this time, our skilled volunteers will offer support to the potential adopters as they get to know Max and help ensure everyone settles in comfortably together.
Max is looking for his next chance at a furr-ever home and will surely show his appreciation! Apply to adopt him today!
