Tango is here to show us that the best rhythm in life is a heartbeat saved.

Tango, the endearing brown and white tabby, was scheduled for euthanasia at a regional shelter when luck smiled on him and he twirled and flicked his way to EHS. Tango was surrendered because his owner fell asleep beside him and when her hand dropped on him, he nipped out of surprise and fear. We’re so happy he’s at EHS, and we can’t wait to show this handsome, misunderstood boy what love is all about as he awaits his forever home.

About Tango

  • In foster
  • Our volunteers have described Tango as a “gentle giant” and “happy-go-lucky.”
  • Tango has settled into his foster home and is affectionate with his foster parents. He follows them around the house, rubs up against their legs, sits on their laps, and will curl up for a snooze at the end of the workday. (Full disclosure: this boy snores!)
  • The way to Tango’s heart is through his stomach. Treats? Yes please! He will give light taps (is this his version of dance arm styling?) for more treats if he smells some in a human pocket.
  • He also LOVES being brushed. “Like, an abnormal amount,” jokes his foster mom.
  • Tango enjoys being pet on his terms. His favourite spot is on his cheeks and he will purr loudly when he’s relaxed. After socializing for a while, he stops purring and his tail starts to twitch and he can give a gentle swat (no claws). This can be a sign he’s feeling overstimulated, so potential adopters should be savvy of cat body language.
  • He loves to look out the window, but isn’t a door dasher. This lower energy cat is content to supervise those silly birds and squirrels from his window seat.
  • Tango enjoys playing with his toys. His favourites are spring toys, wand toys, his little mouse, and anything and everything with catnip. This big boy will have an occasional burst of zoomies, but only in small doses.
  • Tango is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.

Tango’s Ideal Home

  • Tango must be the only cat in the home.
  • He is startled easily by loud noises and will benefit from a calm, quiet environment without young children.
  • Tango’s compatibility with dogs is unknown.

This suave gentleman has saved the best dance for last. Why not step your way over to the shelter and see if Tango is the partner you’ve been waiting for? Apply to adopt him today!
