Help contribute to our largest fundraiser of the year! As a small, independent shelter, we rely entirely on fundraising and donations to care for our shelter animals.
Last year, we raised approximately $150,000 which went directly towards the care of our animals and the operation of our shelter.
We’re once again hoping to raise as much money as possible so we can help animals such as Blue, a stray dog from a northern Manitoba community, and Little Foot the cat, who was surrendered to us with a severe injury.
Blue made her way to EHS after having a litter of puppies at a young age. She’s very shy and a little unsure of humans at first, but she’s also very caring and calm. Unfortunately, she tested positive for heartworm, which causes difficulty breathing, organ damage and can eventually lead to death if left untreated. We’re committed to getting her the care she needs, which is lengthy, intensive and quite costly.
Little Foot arrived in our care with an infected wound that was caused by May long weekend fireworks. The wound required surgery to repair and he also needed seven teeth pulled due to dental disease. His treatment was expensive, but we’re happy to say he’s recovering with regular follow-ups.
