Cannoli

“Soooo happy to meet you!” That’s Cannoli’s motto.  Cannoli is a playful, intelligent dog who likes to keep her brain and body busy. 

BIO & BACKGROUND:

• Aussie Shepherd/Terrier Mix, 4 year-old, Female (spayed)
• Medium-Large-sized (53 lbs)  High-energy
• Cannoli was an unclaimed stray at an over-crowded municipal shelter
• She is house-trained, microchipped and has her core vaccinations

ABOUT CANNOLI: 

• Friendly, affectionate and loves a good scritch behind the ears
• Good playing on her own and loves enrichment games
• Cannoli is good on a leash; although she does not enjoy very busy roads

CANNOLI’S IDEAL HOME:

• She enjoys a good sniff and spending time outdoors, she needs a home with a backyard that will give her plenty of time outside to play, hang and entertain herself
• Cannoli would also benefit from obedience training with a Dog Trainer; this will help use that smart brain of hers and allow her to shine
• Cannoli could live with a well-matched canine companion. If her potential adopter has a dog, we will arrange for a meet and greet
• Cannoli would be best in a home with no small children; she has shown some resource guarding of her food and while we don’t have her history, this is likely stemming from her past. Calm handling, clear boundaries, and gentle, consistent guidance is required to help her learn she doesn't need to protect what's hers
• Because of Cannoli’s unique journey, Cannoli would thrive best with an experienced adopter who can provide confident, loving guidance

Cannoli Update from Foster: When Cannoli first joined EHS in our shelter she was very stressed and therefore not showing her best self. Fortunately we found a Foster Care family for her and relocated her from the shelter to a home environment. We’ve since witnessed her become calmer, happier, quieter and find her best self! Her new forever family will be able to learn from her foster and continue this smart, affectionate girl’s growth. EHS will provide post-adoption support to her new family. Cannoli’s journey is a reminder that with time, patience and kindness, every dog can thrive.
