Meet Tanner, our gentle grandpa with a love for sunshine as big as his heart!

With his unique tabby markings and big amber eyes, Tanner is a heart-stealer with the soul of a poet. This lovely gentleman adores attention and easily wins hearts, soaking up all the love he can get. Whether he is nuzzling up beside you for warmth or running to greet you as you arrive home, Tanner's happy place is right by your side! He's a true people person. (Or is it people cat?)

About Tanner

  • In foster
  • Tanner is a sweet, gentle, affectionate, and purr-fect gentleman!
  • He's vocal when he wants attention. (And you'll find it hard to resist his little demands!). He will occasionally let out a heartfelt yowl when he's craving affection.
  • Friendly and curious, Tanner is a social butterfly who warmly welcomes guests.
  • He loves playtime, especially with a laser pointer, wand toys, and a skill-testing treat puzzle to earn a delicious snack. However, he can get bored quickly, so he needs humans to keep him engaged with a variety of activities.
  • A professional snoozer who adores sunbathing on sunny window sills and burrowing under duvets or blanket forts, Tanner will never refuse a cushy pillow! He also loves curling into dark, cozy spaces.
  • Tanner has recently discovered that the Spring sunbathing season is here. It's his favourite sport! You'll find him lying out relaxed in the sun, stretching happily across the floor, couch, or any spot with a sunbeam.
  • When the light moves, Tanner moves too! He's been known to slowly chase the sunshine around the room to stay in the warmest patch.
  • And, of course, Tanner is a wonderful cuddler. He loves curling into you like the warm blanket he often pretends to be.
  • Tanner has some mobility challenges with his back legs and may need a hand getting down from high places, but that doesn't stop him from enjoying his favourite activities.
  • Tanner has early kidney disease and eats a special veterinary diet to support his renal health. His appetite can sometimes be a little slower, and he appreciates patient humans who understand that he likes to take his time with meals. He can also be a little picky about his food—he'll enjoy a flavour for a while, then politely request a menu change.
  • Tanner is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.

Tanner’s Ideal Home

  • As with many older kitties, Tanner has a few medical concerns, and his forever family should be prepared to help with his medication. He has arthritis and spondylosis and takes pain medication twice a day to help keep him comfortable, plus a monthly injection.
  • Tanner's friendly demeanour suggests he could potentially adapt well to a variety of household dynamics.
  • We are unsure how Tanner feels about other cats or whether he enjoys the company of young children.
  • Tanner could do well in a home with a quiet, respectful dog, given a proper introduction and some time to adjust.
  • Tanner would thrive in a household where he can receive ample love and attention, and plenty of sunny spots where he can lounge like the sunshine connoisseur he is, as well as a second chance at the wonderful life he so deserves.

Tanner is a tender, affectionate soul who will bring joy to whoever is lucky enough to call him family! Are you ready to meet this classy companion? Apply to adopt Tanner today!
