Rocco believes in second chances!
This handsome boy was surrendered to EHS after a biting incident. We are so glad that Rocco’s euthanasia order was revoked and we can help him find a safe, calm, and loving fur-ever home.
About Rocco
- At shelter
- Rocco is a sweet tabby who’s sudden reactivity was likely brought on by unresolved trauma and being passed around through multiple homes.
- Underneath his tough exterior, Rocco is incredibly affectionate and silly. When he is calm and can lead the interaction, he will rub up on your legs, roll over and show his white belly, and has even cuddled up on some volunteer laps!
- He is obsessed with his rainbow wand toy and loves to chase it around. Although he is getting wise to it being used to get him back in his kennel, and now can only be persuaded with treats.
- We are working with a vet to identify Rocco’s triggers and monitor his anti-anxiety medication. He is making great progress and we expect to see continued improvements!
- Rocco is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and up to date on core vaccinations.
Rocco's Ideal Home
- Rocco will need an experienced and patient owner who is able to read cat body language and work with his needs.
- Rocco should be in a home without any other animals or small children.
- EHS will offer a short foster-to-adopt period before finalizing the adoption to assist Rocco with successfully transitioning into a forever home. During this time, our skilled volunteers will offer support to the potential adopters as they get to know Rocco and help ensure everyone settles in comfortably together.
