Could this kitty “Jimmy” his way into your heart?
When Jimmy arrived at EHS, he showed off his tough guy act, but has since chilled out. He’s discovered that humans aren’t so bad, and now enjoys head scratches by hand.
About Jimmy
- At shelter
- Upon his arrival at the shelter, Jimmy showed volunteers his impressive growl from life on the streets. Now that he’s settled in and been shown care from our wonderful EHS volunteers, his growling has stopped and been replaced by the cutest raspy meow! He sounds like a dinosaur!
- With his white face and gorgeous patterned body, Jimmy is a certified cutie!
- Recently, Jimmy has been showing off his playful side.
- Jimmy is a skittish cat who has had minimal experience with humans.
- Jimmy is currently enrolled in EHS’s socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help him become more comfortable around people.
- Some skittish cats may remain reserved, while others may express their trust and affection in a variety of ways.
- Jimmy is very food motivated and eats his meals quite quickly. At the shelter, he is provided with a puzzle feeder that his kibble is placed in, which he really enjoys! He can even figure out the more complicated ones, showing off his smart skills.
- Speaking of how much Jimmy loves food, it’s a great way to build a bond with him! Feeding him treats during interactions is a sure way to get him to trust you.
- Through finding his confidence, Jimmy has gotten much more comfortable with pets by hand. He especially likes pets around his face, chin, cheeks, on the top of his head, and he especially loves nose massages.
- Jimmy has been neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.
Jimmy's Ideal Home
- We are unsure how Jimmy would do with other cats or pets.
- A skittish cat will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children.
- Jimmy would benefit from having a safe space, such as a small room or bathroom, where he can stay when first adopted to help with the transition to his new home.
- Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Jimmy settle into his new environment. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Jimmy with a successful transition to his forever home.
Jimmy is looking for a patient home where he can build a bond and receive food! It’s been a tough road for this guy, but the future is bright! Come meet him at the shelter today!
