It’s been a “hard knock life” indeed.

Annie arrived from an overcrowded municipal shelter where a kind-hearted volunteer put a “hold” on her scheduled euthanasia until a space could be made at EHS. Not much is known about her mean past, but the level of agitation she displayed suggests she is in need of a lot of love. Annie is finally getting the care and patience she so desperately needs and we can’t wait to see how her story unfolds.

About Annie

  • At shelter
  • She is still adjusting to shelter life, displaying both hissy fits and calm moments, but she has already decompressed enough to accept a gentle pet from one of our volunteers during a play session with her favourite feather wand toy.
  • Our volunteers are working to help her become more comfortable around people and get a better sense of her true temperament.
  • Annie dislikes the back-scratcher and will swat at it. One day at a time, little love.
  • She enjoys churro treats so much that she gave a little “go faster” growl when our volunteer didn’t squeeze the tube treat quite quickly enough.
  • She is a vocal cat, but needs some work on her tone before we can cast her in the musical! Less cattitude and more of the sweet, soft meows we’ve heard from you please, Annie.
  • Annie is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.

Annie’s Ideal Home

  • Annie needs a calm, quiet adult-only home.
  • As we get to know Annie, we will be able to determine if she would welcome a feline friend.
  • Her compatibility with dogs is unknown.
  • Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Annie settle into her new environment.

Don’t wait for “tomorrow,” come by the shelter today and see if you’re the big-hearted person who’s going to give Annie the safe, loving home she’s been longing for. We’d bet our bottom dollar that this plucky orange and white girl will work her way into your heart.
