Emma’s Search for a Forever Home

It’s not always easy to put yourself out there when looking for love, but our sweet Emma is not afraid to go after what she wants.

As a single female, she is looking for a partner (or two) and hasn’t wasted any time trying to catch the attention of the eligible bachelors in our shelter.

Emma came into our care in January of 2023 with her daughter, who has since been adopted. She’s been with us for such a long time because she needed our help to build trust and confidence with people, and work on her approachability.

She has come a long way thanks to our patient volunteers who have socialized her and helped her understand that it’s okay to accept pets, including full body rubs and butt scritches.

While she needed time to warm up to humans, it turns out Emma really enjoys the company of male cats.

Since being at the shelter, she’s been observed shamelessly trying to get the attention of some of the boys by flopping and rolling on the floor, curling up beside them, or strutting her stuff in front of their enclosures.

Several of her targets have been adopted before she could solidify a relationship, but she’s currently entangled with two of our residents: Shaggy and Scooby.

Things seem to be going well between them, but we have a feeling that Emma would be willing to leave them behind for a new home with a family to love her. Obviously, her ideal home would include a male cat for her to love on. She would also do best in a home without small children and with owners who would be patient with her and willing to continue working on her people skills.

Is Emma Your Perfect Match?

Emma is now approximately eight years old and has been with us for 18 months. We think it’s time this girl got her happy ending, ideally with a prince charming.

If you’re interested in Emma, fill out a cat adoption form and one of our volunteers will be in touch.
