Our Hope for the Holidays campaign is now live, aiming to raise funds to help care for our shelter pets. This is our largest fundraiser of the year and helps to fund a significant portion of our annual budget.
As a small, independent shelter, we rely entirely on fundraising and donations to care for our cats and dogs while they wait to find their new forever families. Saving a life takes takes a village of selfless volunteers, devoted foster parents, and the reliable support of our donors. Our collective effort powers every single rescue and provides the long-term care that transforms lives.
Keep an eye out for some paws-itively fun activities and ways to help us make this holiday season brighter for the cats and dogs at Etobicoke Humane Society. Our campaign will feature our annual calendar filled with wonderful stories of our cats and dogs, holiday eCards, our Pet Naming Rights campaign, and more!

We are thrilled to announce the return of our Pet Naming Rights campaign this year! Our cats and dogs come from various situations—some surrendered by families, others rescued from hoarding or abandonment. Some pets arrive with funny names, sometimes we give them our own quirky names, like Catt Damon and Lord Chutney.
For every $50 donated between November 1 and December 31, 2025, the donor receives one entry into our pet naming contest. There will be a lucky draw for a chance to name one of our pets next year! It’s a fun way to make a lasting impact and give these animals the names and care they truly deserve.
A rescue isn't just one donation; it's months of medicine, surgeries, and constant support. This is why we need you to join our Village as a monthly donor. By making a predictable, recurring monthly gift, you provide the reliable funding that allows us to commit to complex, life-saving cases when rescuing cats and dogs.
Pet Naming Right Campaign Terms and Conditions:
For every $50 donated between November 1 and December 31, 2025, the donor receives one entry into our pet naming contest.
1. If a person donates multiple times, they get multiple entries. Their total donation is divided by 50 to calculate the number of entries they have earned for the pet naming contest. Example: An aggregate donation of $80 would result in one entry for the contest.
2. Current monthly donations are included in these calculations and will be combined with other gifts during November and December.
3. Winners will be notified by email or phone and will be asked to provide a list of three names ranked in order of preference, from which the winning name will be selected. EHS reserves the right to exclude any names for any reason. Winners consent to having their first name disclosed on social media associated with EHS or the animal in question.
4. Winning names will be assigned to animals throughout the year and the winner will receive a photo of the animal and an update when they are adopted.
