Limited visitation for cats. See Details HERE
Our animals are super excited for #GivingTuesday! It is a very special day for charities, and we hope you’ll make a donation to our small shelter to help us care for our cats and dogs.
Make a donation any time today in celebration of this global day of giving, and you’ll be helping us care for our incredible dogs and cats at EHS.
And thanks to generous supporters, Leslie Byrnes and Mike Dawson, the first $5,000 will be matched — doubling donations! Leslie and Mike are long-time volunteers, supporters and fosters and also adopted a dog named Buddy from EHS.
As a no-kill shelter, we believe every animal deserves a second chance at a forever home, and we rely on donations to help us provide care for our animals.
David the cat, and Jack the dog are grateful for any donations, as they been through many ups and downs during their time with us.
David has been in our care for three years, arriving in December 2021 from a crowded municipal shelter where he had been at risk for euthanasia.
He has had many health challenges, including feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), dental surgery, early-stage kidney issues, and a life-threatening urinary blockage requiring $5,000 in emergency care.
Despite all this, David is now happy and thriving in a foster home. Though he hasn’t found his forever family yet, we’re committed to his care.
Help us continue supporting animals like David and our small shelter with a big heart this Giving Tuesday! ❤️
Jack was surrendered due to allergies in the family and was adopted more than once, but returned. He was a misunderstood dog who didn’t know his own strength, so to make sure he had the best chance at finding a forever home, we invested in professional training at a board-and-train facility. He learned basic obedience, impulse control and how to calm his boundless energy. The results were remarkable — Jack became a more confident, well-behaved dog, we’re happy to report, was adopted by a loving family.
Today, after 1021 days in our care, Jack is thriving in his forever home, which includes a canine companion.
He may not realize just how lucky he is, but we do. It’s thanks to supporters like you that we can give dogs like Jack the chance they deserve.
Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving and volunteering that comes after Black Friday. It’s a way for charities to come together to promote giving in the same way retailers take part in Black Friday sales.
