As a no-kill shelter, we believe every animal deserves a second chance at a forever home.
When you support EHS, you help animals like Lucky, who came to us as a street cat from Hamilton. He had a broken pelvis, likely from being hit by a car. After having orthopedic surgery, he developed urinary blockages as a result of his injury and was hospitalized. His vet bills have been costly, but thanks to our supporters, we’ve been able to get him healthy again.
Meet Lucky
He’s doing well now, but will need to remain on medication to manage his urinary issues for the rest of his life. He’s ready for adoption and is looking for a home where he can be the only cat in the house and a family that is comfortable giving medication (he takes his pills like a champ).
