Meet Gravy, 2 years old

While we can never get enough of him, we can’t figure out why Gravy is still with us at EHS. When he arrived from another full shelter, Gravy immediately showed us how unique he is (no, it's not just his name). From his looks to his friendly curiosity, Gravy has been nothing short of charming. He’s a smart guy who loves to learn and smell new things and he’ll spend most of his time exploring his space. Gravy is an active and playful dog who would be great in an active home with experience handling large breeds. Somehow, Gravy has yet to receive an application, which astounds us because he makes us laugh at the shelter each day with his infectious joy. Be the first to apply for Gravy and start the adventure with this wonderful companion.

Meet Midnight, 8 years old

Midnight came to us from another shelter where not much was known about his past. What we do know, is that he quickly settled into his foster home. He’s a huge fan of people and would love to be in a home where he can spend time training his owners to sit and play with him. Midnight loves to play with ping pong balls and receive pets (but he does have a “no pets before meals” policy). Midnight or midday, he'll be by your side. He'll even happily sleep with you, although we've heard he's a bit of a blanket hog. Midnight is FIV+, but he doesn’t let that affect him (other than some extra pesky vet visits).

Meet Rusty

When he first came to us, Rusty was in rough shape. We knew he had concerns with his teeth and eyes, exacerbated by the fact that he’s FIV+. But, upon further inspection, it was identified that he had an eye infection, a corneal ulcer, and a condition called entropion (meaning his eyelid rolled inward against his eye). The poor little guy! EHS veterinary partners were able to correct the entropion. However, the ulcer on his right eye was so severe his eye had to be removed. And if that wasn’t enough for him to handle, he also has arthritis, which was luckily manageable with monthly injections.

Rusty has been through a lot, but that hasn’t affected his loving spirit. Sure he needs some extra TLC, but he’ll always be the sweetest and sleepiest companion. He likes to stay close so he can cuddle and tell you when it’s time for anything - food, cuddles, play - you name it! He’ll even tell you when he needs a break, but don’t worry, no biting. Rusty would be perfect for a calm home who can keep him comfortable and see the special cat behind the extra challenges.

EHS has visiting hours, only for cats who are at our shelter. Visiting hours are 2-6pm on Saturday & Sunday. If you'd like to adopt a cat or dog (including one of our special dogs), please apply online and one of our volunteers will contact you.
