Daylight Savings Time Can Be Hard For Your Pets

The clocks will spring forward one hour this coming weekend (March 12), so now’s the time to start getting your pets ready for the change.

Just like people, animals can be affected by this time change, as it disrupts their routine. But you can make the adjustment easier by starting to take steps in the days leading up to rolling the clocks forward.

Here are some tips:

  • Start delaying their wake-up, bathroom and feeding times in the lead-up to the time change
  • To help add time to their schedule, use puzzles or toys to distract them before meals
  • Make sure to spend extra time interacting with them as some pets can experience anxiety during the time change

Also make sure to have some patience with your pet. They may need a little extra time to get into a new rhythm.
