Sheba came to us when her loving owner had to move to a long-term care facility and she couldn’t go with her. Currently, Sheba lives in a home with a foster parent who reports that she is an absolute delight.
Sheba is an eight-year-old tortoiseshell who loves catnip and chin scratches. She’s very friendly and loves to interact with people and is also very intelligent. She even answers to her name.
At her last vet visit, it was recommended that Sheba be put on a diet. The key to keeping her trim and healthy is to measure her portions, to ensure she maintains her meow-del appearance and, of course, her health. It's really that easy!
It’s important to know that Sheba has a condition called hypertrophic cardimyopathy. Her condition appears stable at this time but this can be progressive and impede heart function. To assist with the heart's function and try to delay any type of progression, Sheba requires medication. This medication costs about $20 a month and, according to Sheba's foster mom, she is a superstar at taking it! She will also require a recheck cardiac ultrasound in 6-12 months.
We haven't yet determined whether Sheba might be a fan of sharing accommodations with any other pets and we haven't yet seen her in action with small children. So far, she does seem to be affectionate, good-natured and eager to interact with people. We have determined, with certainty, that Sheba is a sweet and lovely cat.

Maxx has a lot of fears. He is very nervous of people he doesn’t know and is easily startled by noises that are unfamiliar to him Even with people he knows, he’s not your cuddly snuggling dog. Maxx seems aloof and is constantly monitoring his environment. If frightened, he will run and hide.
