Maxx

A New Canadian!

Say hello to Maxx, a handsome, young pup who came to us from the Caribbean.  Maxx is looking for a very special adopter to help him fully transition to his Canadian life!

Maxx has a lot of fears.  He is very nervous of people he doesn’t know and is easily startled by noises that are unfamiliar to him.  Even with people he knows, he’s not your cuddly snuggling dog.  Maxx seems aloof and constantly monitoring his environment. If frightened, he will run and hide.

Maxx has gone home with a dedicated family who fell in love with him at first sight. After the first visit, they showed their dedication to Maxx by making a long drive to visit him almost every day. He is transformed into such an affectionate dog - always wagging his tail and giving his mom kisses. He has already taken over his human's bed, and is happily settling in with his doggy and human siblings. He is becoming more and more confident every day and is enjoying his happily ever after!
EHS has visiting hours, only for cats who are at our shelter. Visiting hours are 2-6pm on Saturday & Sunday. If you'd like to adopt a cat or dog (including one of our special dogs), please apply online and one of our volunteers will contact you.
