Spencer: sugar, no spice, just everything nice!
Spencer is SWEET, ask anyone who has spent some time with him! As a kitten, he was rescued by a truck driver from the side of a busy highway near Montreal. He was raised in a loving home, but was surrendered to EHS because of his owner’s illness and allergies. Spencer may be a little shy when you first meet him, but he is quick to warm up and show his affection with head- butts and leg rubs. This boy is truly the icing on the cake—and conveniently, he comes with his own little white bib!
About Spencer
- At shelter
- Spencer is a friendly boy who loves pets by hand on his head, cheeks, and chin, and if you sit with him for a while, he is happy to flop himself right down beside you!
- Apparently, Spencer is a laid back gentleman who enjoys his rest, but he enjoys some playtime with a wand toy too! In his previous home, he also loved to play with a self-motion toy that went in circles when he batted it with his paws.
- Once it’s time for some rest, Spencer loves a sunny spot to relax in.
- Spencer is curious to see what is happening outside his kennel at the shelter, but he is also alert and a little nervous if it is too busy in his area or if there are loud noises.
- In his previous home, Spencer could be found under the bed during the day and on the foot of the bed during the night. In the morning, he would awaken his owner with head- butts and requests for pets. Better than an alarm clock any day!
- Spencer loves treats, which is a good way to encourage him to come out of the cozy cubby in his kennel. He also will “swoosh” around” people’s legs at mealtime.
- Keeping this gorgeous guy’s grey fur looking splendid is as easy as pie. Spencer loves to be brushed!
- Spencer has been neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.
Spencer's Ideal Home
- Although we are still getting to know sweet Spencer, he has quickly shown shelter volunteers that he is a cuddly cat who would do well in a home with someone that is able to provide him a good daily dose of affection.
- He is a gentle boy who has had exposure to children and likes them.
- Spencer had the company of another kitten in his first year and they got along well, but we are unsure how he would do with another cat, a dog, or any other pet as an adult.
