When Irish eyes are smiling…
Oh wait, we might have a grumpy cat here. Meet Maura, the spicy fluffball who arrived at EHS with the “Irish cohort” around St. Paddy’s day. This little lady has not been happy in her cage, and ran out every chance she got. Now in a loving foster home, Maura is spending time around other cats while being socialized and learning her manners. And when those Irish eyes are happy, she might just steal your heart away.
About Maura
- In foster
- Maura is still timid and a bit unsure, but her foster mom has already reported great progress in her comfort levels. She is close to losing that “grumpy cat” moniker, although her face still appears adorably concerned when new situations arise.
- She loves the resident foster cat, and chirps every time she sees him.
- Although her foster mom admits that Maura looks like “something that touched an electrical outlet,” her fur is extremely soft and she is warming up to pets more and more as she forgets her troubled past as a stray.
- Maura still hides quite a bit, and can often be found in her cubby, under shelves, and in and around other soft spaces.
- Kittens, like Maura, have lots of energy! To drain some of that energy, she enjoys playing with her fellow resident cats, the wand toy, and with small bird toys.
- Maura is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, and up to date on core vaccinations.
Maura's Ideal Home
- It is important that Maura either go to a home where there is already a feline-friendly cat in residence, or be adopted with another compatible EHS cat.
- Kittens require ample and mindful stimulation, through play, from their humans.
- Maura has not yet met any dogs or kids and, given her past, would probably not do well with young children.
Will you be the one to show Maura how wonderful life as a beloved family member can be? Why not book a meet and greet today? Those Irish eyes might just start to smile!
