Babies are expensive, including the furry ones, so we’re throwing a shower to raise money for the kittens in our care.
This time of year is known as kitten season and we always see an increase in babies at EHS. Each of our kittens and their moms require special care, including food and vaccinations and will be spayed or neutered before they’re adopted.
Since the beginning of the year, we have welcomed three moms with 11 kittens and 19 solo kittens who arrived without a mama, all needing a soft spot to land. What better place to find love and comfort than in loving foster homes at EHS?
Mom and babies, as well as the “solo” kittens, are supported by their attentive foster families who supply a healthy diet for the entire crew, help resolve any medical issues if needed, and take them to routine vet appointments. Above all, they provide a loving and secure environment where the family is able to thrive.
The average cost of all of this is about $700 per kitten.
How your donations help
Our kitten shower will raise money to care for all of the babies that need our help before they get adopted to their forever homes.
We are aiming to raise $21,000, which will go towards their medical care, food and any other items they need.
And just like with a baby shower, we’re also looking for kitten items, such as:
We’ve even set up a gift registry through Wishlist on Amazon.
Our kitten shower runs from April 18 to Mother's Day on May 10, 2026. Make a difference in the lives of these kittens by making a donation today!
Looking to adopt one of our kittens? Kittens will be available for adoption when they’re 12 weeks old and have had their first two kitten vaccinations. Kittens less than six months old should be adopted in pairs or to a home with another cat.
The adoption fee for a single cat is $225 and $400 for a pair. For kittens under six months of age, the adoption fee is $300 for each kitten. This includes a baseline medical visit, spay/neuter, deworming, flea treatment, microchip and vaccines.
