Affectionate, Gentle & Curious
Dolly has quickly become a shelter favourite! Consensus amongst the Shelter Volunteers is that Dolly “is a real sweetheart” 💖
BIO:
- Shepherd/Husky Mix, 3 yrs, Female
- Medium (60 lb), Medium-energy level
- Dolly is an unclaimed stray found in a Northern Ontario community
- Dolly is house-trained, microchipped and has her core vaccinations (will be spayed soon)
ABOUT DOLLY:
- Both calm and active, she loves hanging in the backyard and she’s just as happy to take up a space on the sofa beside you
- Dolly is an inquisitive dog and curious and alert of her surroundings
- She walks mostly loose-leash, but will stop and focus on small critters she sees along the way
- Dolly enjoys being around people and loves being pet, getting belly rubs and ear scritches
- She is treat-motivated and her disposition to human bonding means she is very trainable.
DOLLY’S IDEAL HOME:
- Besides being by your side, one of her favourite things is getting outside for a walk and would benefit from a household that enjoys walking adventures and hikes
- Dolly enjoys backyard time where she can do her thing - observe and use her inquisitiveness to explore and discover
- Dolly would benefit from continued leash manners training. She has a strong prey drive to small critters he sees on a walk and she’s super observant, nary a squirrel gets by her!
- Dolly would be a great match for older kids that understand that slower and calmer is better
- We are not recommending her for a home with a cat due to her prey drive, she may get along with another dog in the home but would be best on her own for now
- Dolly would do best in a home without shared walls as she can be vocal at times
Dolly is a well-balanced dog ⚖️ . She is curious and playful and loves interacting with people and leaning in for affection.
