Willy will win your heart!
Willy was surrendered to EHS along with his brother, Billy, when their elderly owner’s living situation changed and, sadly, she could no longer keep them. This person had kindly taken this pair into her home a few years earlier after their first owner had passed away, so these brothers have had some significant changes in their lives so far. Willy is now in foster care and has been described as being very friendly and approachable. We look forward to seeing this sociable butterfly find the truly fur-ever home that he deserves!
About Willy
- In foster
- Willy’s foster parent reports that it doesn’t take long for him to become relaxed in a new space. He walked around right away to explore and then was quick to make himself comfortable and right at home.
- He is welcoming and very affectionate with most visitors to his foster home.
- Willy has been described as “sweet” and a “super-duper friendly boy” and he is happy to accept lots of pets (and Churu treats), but please stay away from the belly and his paws!
- If you are up for morning conversation, Willy is your guy! He is especially vocal in the mornings and isn’t afraid to ask for his breakfast. He will also sometimes be vocal late at night as well, but will quickly take the hint if you are not in the mood for chatting with him.
- Willy will allow his foster to pick him up and even hold him for a few minutes, but it isn’t his favourite place to be. He does accept invitations to sit on her lap though, and his purring tells her that he is happy to be there!
- He does love other comfortable spots, too—sleeping on pillows, the couch, or on the bed are some of his most-liked places.
- Since Willy occasionally scratches at the couch and carpet in his foster home, access to a scratching post or a cat tree would be ideal.
- This beautiful boy really likes to be brushed and he will let you know that with his “definite purrs.”
- He is sometimes fearful of the hair dryer.
- Willy enjoys a window with a view during the day and likes to make himself comfortable in his foster’s bed at night.
- His foster reports that Willy’s tail will shake and quiver (with excitement) when he sees her and that he also likes to show his affection with head-butts. She describes him as “adorable!”
- Looking for a pair of copy-cats? At first glance, these brothers, who both have short, black (panther-like!) fur, and yellow eyes can be difficult to tell apart, but there is at least one distinguishing characteristic:; Willy has a little notch at the top of his left ear.
- Willy has been neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.
Willy's Ideal Home
- Willy and his brother are companionable, but just like panthers, these brothers do seem more solitary by nature when it comes to each other. Willy can be adopted with his brother, Billy, but he would also be fine in a home on his own.
- Willy is very sociable with people, so he would do great in a home that could provide him with as much love and attention as he can take!
- We are unsure if Willy is good with dogs, other animals, or children.
