The loss of a legend, a tip of the hat—please welcome Parton the cat.

Life often throws us curveballs; Parton’s story is proof of that. Named in honour of Dolly Parton, who sadly passed away the day before his arrival, our Parton made an abrupt appearance at the shelter door from parts unknown. Understandably perturbed by his sudden change of circumstance, this handsome sweetheart is currently decompressing in one of our loving foster homes.

About Parton

  • In foster
  • A sneak peek via a foster room camera has shown Parton rolling around, seemingly enjoying his own company. In the words of his foster mom, he is “a big kitten, he loves to play.”
  • Being able to tuck himself behind the curtains in the foster room has given him some sense of security whenever his foster mom is present.
  • Parton is emerging from his hiding spot more and more often when his foster mom is in the room; he has even curled up to go to sleep, despite keeping one eye open. He is definitely relaxing more!
  • He startles at sudden noises or at things he doesn’t recognize, however, he relaxes once he feels safe. Parton will need time and patience to become comfortable in new surroundings.
  • Parton is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.

Parton's Ideal Home

  • As we get to know Parton, we will be able to determine a home that would suit him best.
  • Given his shy demeanor, a quiet home would most likely be a good fit.
  • His history of contact with other animals is a mystery, just like his past, however, he does enjoy the company of one of the resident cats in his foster home.

Dolly Parton composed more than five thousand songs over her career of almost sixty years, with “I Will Always Love You” being one of her greatest hits. Parton would like nothing more than to live by those words—he’s looking for love. Could you be the one to make his wish come true? Schedule a meet and greet today!
