Black cats are beautiful and Billy is no exception!

Billy was surrendered to EHS along with his brother, Willy, when their elderly owner’s living situation changed and, sadly, she could no longer keep them. This person had kindly taken this pair into her home a few years earlier after their first owner had passed away, so these brothers have had some notable changes in their lives so far. Billy has been described as calm, friendly, approachable—and adorable! We look forward to seeing this sweet boy find the truly fur-ever home that he deserves!

About Billy

  • In foster
  • Billy is a bit shyer than his brother, Willy, and although it may take him a bit longer to adjust to a new situation, this gentle boy loves pets and affection, just like his brother!
  • He is friendly with visitors to his foster home.
  • Billy is described as being a quiet and chill cat, and an avid lounger.
  • He enjoys pets, but he prefers not to be touched on the tummy or paws!
  • Billy will greet his foster in the morning, but otherwise is vocal only on occasion.
  • This black beauty also LOVES to be brushed and will purr—a lot! It is a great way to bond with him!
  • Since he occasionally scratches at the couch and carpet in his foster home, access to a scratching post or a cat tree would be ideal.
  • Billy enjoys window-gazing as part of his daily routine.
  • This affectionate boy reserves his cuddling for bedtime only and he often sleeps beside his foster parent at night, but he sometimes sleeps on her legs as well. Perhaps he also has lap cat potential!
  • Looking for a pair of copycats? At first glance, these brothers, who both have short, black (panther-like!) fur and yellow eyes can be difficult to tell apart, but there is at least one distinguishing characteristic: Willy has a little notch at the top of his left ear.
  • Billy is not a fan of being picked up, which happens when he is receiving his daily medication (not a fan of that either). The medication is a new thing for Billy to help manage his heart condition, but he is becoming more comfortable with it. His health is currently stable.
  • Billy has been neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.

Billy's Ideal Home

  • Billy and his brother are companionable, but just like panthers, these brothers do seem more solitary by nature when it comes to each other. Billy can be adopted with his brother, Willy, but he would also be fine in a home on his own.
  • Billy is a bit shy at first and he will need time to warm up in a new environment, but also, once comfortable, he will do great in a home that will give him plenty of love and attention!
  • Billy will require daily heart medication for life, and his forever family will need to monitor him for any changes.
  • We are unsure if Billy is good with dogs, other animals, or children.

Is your home the purr-fect habitat for a “house panther” (or two)? If so, why not apply to adopt Billy (and perhaps Willy?) today!
