Zoe Finds Her Forever Family Thanks to CP24

Posted 23/11/2023 | |

From TV Star to Loving Home

In late September, we brought Zoe, a Labrador/Hound mix, down to CP24 to appear on their morning show. She was on her best behaviour and quickly won over everyone in the newsroom.

But she also caught the eye of someone watching from home.

Shortly after Zoe’s TV appearance, Rachel reached out to us and put in an adoption application. We are happy to say that it wasn’t long before Zoe was going to her new home, ready to live the pampered life she deserves!

Before this, Zoe had been found as a stray in Hamilton and then made her way to us. We suspected she had come from a home as she seemed to always be looking for her people. She would freeze while out on a walk if she was brought into a residential area; almost as if she expected to find her family.

It’s thanks to CP24’s Take Me Home Tuesday segment that she didn’t have to wait too long for her happy ending. This is a regular segment that CP24 hosts with local animal shelters and we participate about once a month. If you’d like to catch us, tune in on Tuesdays at around 8:20 a.m.; we aren’t there every time, but you can have a chance to catch other adoptable pets from rescues in the Greater Toronto Area.

EHS has visiting hours, only for cats who are at our shelter. Visiting hours are 2-6pm on Saturday & Sunday. If you'd like to adopt a cat or dog (including one of our special dogs), please apply online and one of our volunteers will contact you.
