Meet Max, 3 years old

Max is a Husky mix who travelled to EHS from a northern community near Nunavut. He lives in a foster home with another large breed dog, and his fosters have learned plenty about him.

Like many Huskies, Max loves to spend time outdoors and with his people and is a big fan of routine. He will settle at your feet for scratches behind the ears, but if it's time for a walk, he will beat you to the door. Max has mastered many skills, including paw, down, place and following his nose to the kitchen. The way to his heart is definitely through his stomach.

Max is picking up commands quite well but has some quirks requiring a specific type of home. He can be vocal and has a natural prey drive, so we recommend him for a home with no shared walls or small pets. However, since he currently lives with another dog, Max would likely appreciate being with another calm dog. As his foster mom says, "Max is a lovely misunderstood dog." He deserves a family who will give him all their love.

Meet Cece, 13 years old

Cece is a charming domestic shorthair who loves food and attention. As soon as she has had her meals (and she will remind you), she is ready for snuggles in any sun she can find.

Cece is a friendly, gentle cat who loves people - even strangers! Her fondness for company also means she doesn't like being alone. She will do best in a home where someone can be home most of the day. Cece is our resident diva, but we find it easy to get on her good side. Just make sure to listen to her when she 'talks,' she will tell you exactly when she wants something. Her flair for the dramatic is more endearing than high maintenance.

This little lady has a couple of health conditions, which we manage with a daily pill and regular vet checks every 3-6 months. Anyone who takes a chance on Cece is bound to be happy with their decision. She is a lovely girl who wants nothing more than a family to call her own.

EHS has visiting hours, only for cats who are at our shelter. Visiting hours are 2-6pm on Saturday & Sunday. If you'd like to adopt a cat or dog (including one of our special dogs), please apply online and one of our volunteers will contact you.
