Our doors are about to close. We need your help.
We have seen a significant increase in demand for our services over the past 24 months. More animals arrive at our shelter every day - some abandoned, some surrendered and others injured – while the wait list continues to grow and the calls for help multiply.
Unlike most animal shelters, the Etobicoke Humane Society (EHS) is run solely by volunteers from our community in a full service, rented facility. Every single individual at the Etobicoke Humane Society is a volunteer from the Board of Directors to the Adoption Coordinators to the Animal Care teams. There are no salaries.
As demand for services increase, our donations cannot keep up.
We are facing a funding crisis.
If our financial situation does not improve immediately, we will be forced to close our doors after more than 25 years of serving our community and saving thousands of animals from abuse, neglect and abandonment. We want the opportunity to save even more animals.
EHS operate solely on donations; we do not receive government funding or grants. Our adoption fees help to alleviate some of the costs associated with animal care, but it is donations that truly finance our cause.
How can you help?
Donate to our cause, become a monthly donor or help volunteer!
100% of all donations go directly into animal care and operations. Your donation will provide shelter, vaccinations, food and emergency medical attention.
