Introducing Sylvia Kocsondy

Candid Photo of New EHS President

We’re happy to announce Sylvia Kocsondy as the new President of EHS. Sylvia is no stranger to EHS as she’s been the Managing Director of Programs and Operations for almost two years, overseeing the Dog and Cat teams, facilities, office team and more.

During her time as a volunteer, Sylvia has been a part of our COVID-19 response team, helped develop guidelines and policies, established a partnership with the Toronto Humane Society and helped with recruiting and developing new team members. Sylvia wants to continue supporting our vision and purpose of helping shelter pets and to advocate for the welfare of our animals.

Her knowledge and experience with EHS will help her start off on the right foot.

Sylvia is taking over from Cristina Scassa who has spent the last four years as President and has fulfilled her maximum two terms.

We want to give a huge thanks to Cristina for everything she’s done during her time and we’re happy to say she’s staying on as a volunteer to help with our dog team and will also be lending her expertise to the fundraising team.

EHS has visiting hours, only for cats who are at our shelter. Visiting hours are 2-6pm on Saturday & Sunday. If you'd like to adopt a cat or dog (including one of our special dogs), please apply online and one of our volunteers will contact you.
