Our Give What You Can Campaign is Coming to an End

We’re Still Looking for Donations

It’s been a hard few months for everyone, to say the least. In spite of this tough economic time, we’re so heartened by the continuing support of our community during our Give What You Can campaign. The campaign is coming to an end soon, and we need your help to get us to our goal.

Like nearly every other facet of our lives, our shelter has been impacted by COVID-19. This year we’re facing a loss of approximately $85,000 because we had to cancel several of our in-person fundraising events. To help us make up for this shortfall, we’re calling for all animal lovers to give what they can, whether that’s $5 or $100.

While COVID has impacted or slowed down most things, the critical work of the Etobicoke Humane Society hasn’t slowed down one bit. Since the pandemic began, our shelter has been keeping up with a high demand for pets. People need companionship more than ever right now, and we’re here to help. We want to continue to care for as many animals as possible, and we need your support.

As a small shelter run entirely by volunteers, the large majority of donations go back into the operation of the shelter and the care of our animals. That means your donation will directly impact animals such as Judy, an approximately seven-year-old cat that was living on the streets. She came to us recently with severe damage in her eyes which have caused her to lose most of her sight. Without our help, she would not have survived much longer on the streets. She has a very sweet temperament so we suspect she was once someone’s pet.

We’re so thankful for you, our stellar community who continues to step up and support us. Please give what you can to help our shelter and volunteers continue this critical work.

Please consider making a donation to our campaign by filling out the form below and help animals like Judy and Missy.

EHS has visiting hours, only for cats who are at our shelter. Visiting hours are 2-6pm on Saturday & Sunday. If you'd like to adopt a cat or dog (including one of our special dogs), please apply online and one of our volunteers will contact you.
