Surrender Your Cat or Dog

Thank you for considering EHS in making the difficult decision to surrender your cat. We understand that there are a variety of reasons why animals are given up, and our team is compassionate and understanding. EHS is also a 100% no kill shelter, which means that any animal we take in will be cared for as long as it takes to find the right forever home. Please fill out this online Surrender Form if you would like us to contact you about surrendering your cat.

Please note, we can only take cats that we have space for at any given time, so we may not be able to take your cat for this or a variety of other reasons.

Surrender Fee: $80.00 (non-refundable, payable upon acceptance and intake of the cat)

You will be required to:

• Provide photo identification
• Provide proof of ownership of the animal
• Bring all veterinary records you have for the animal
• Fill out surrender form
• Read and sign the surrender form to give custody to EHS

You will be required to:

• Attend an appointment with our coordinator
• Provide all veterinary records you have for the animal
• Pay for additional testing if your animal is not up-to-date on vaccinations/tests
• Other, as required

The Etobicoke Humane Society has the right to refuse an animal. Our shelter operates solely on donations and cannot accept every animal that is brought to our shelter. An appointment with one of our coordinators does not guarantee that your animal will be accepted.
