Are You Looking for a New Family Member?

It doesn’t happen often, but in March, two six-month-old puppies arrived in our care. Our dogs often come to us with varied backgrounds - some of them difficult -  and tend to be a bit older, so two small pups is an uncommon sight at the shelter. 

Cole and Oakley are part of a larger litter of German Shepherd-mix dogs taken from a hoarding situation. Unfortunately, we were only able to take two of them as our shelter had limited space. Puppies can also be more expensive because they require extras, such as vaccinations, special food and spays/neuters.

When these two arrived, they needed health checks as it was clear they hadn’t received proper vet care. In these types of situations, it’s common for dogs to have parasites or other issues that take some time to clear-up. While they were getting healthy, they weren’t available for adoption.

They’re both now healthy and acting like normal, rambunctious doggos and Oakley has already found a home. Luckily, puppies tend to get adopted quickly and we’re confident that Cole will also be adopted soon. This, of course, is great news, but can sometimes mean that our older dogs get overlooked.
