50/50 Raffle | Fundraiser | Etobicoke Human Society

Thank you to everyone that purchased tickets in our first ever 50/50 raffle!

Our grand prize jackpot ended up being an amazing $65,190 and we’re excited to announce the winner is Alana E., who takes home half the prize money.

The other half will go towards our shelter and will be put to good use, helping to cover vet bills for our awesome cats and dogs.

Veterinary costs are our biggest expense every year and this money comes at a time when costs have been increasing due to the pandemic. We rely on fundraisers like this one to ensure we’re able to give our animals the best care possible so they’re happy and healthy when they get adopted.

Meet Leo, the cat!

Leo came to us from another shelter and while recovering from being neutered, his health took a turn. He had difficulty breathing and had to be rushed to a vet. He spent several days in an oxygen tank but was then sent home. When he needed a second trip to an emergency vet, he was diagnosed with asthma. He now has twice daily puffers, emergency inhalants and other medications, but is doing much better and we’re hoping he’ll soon be ready for adoption. His care has cost approximately $2,500. Proceeds from the 50/50 draw will go towards animals like Leo.
