A Precious Peanut Looking for Love

Meet Peanut, a beautiful black cat whose quiet spirit hides an inspiring story of resilience and hope. Rescued just in time from a home that was about to be demolished, Peanut is now ready to find a safe place where she can begin her next chapter.

About Peanut

  • At shelter
  • Peanut is a skittish cat who has had minimal experience with humans.
  • Peanut is a bit reserved and cautious, especially in new surroundings.
  • She is very gentle and will need plenty of time to adjust to unfamiliar places and people.
  • Once she feels safe, her sweet gentle nature can begin to shine.
  • One way to her heart is Churu.  She likes it offered on a back-scratcher for her dining enjoyment!
  • She is currently enrolled in EHS's socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help her become more comfortable around people.
  • Peanut has FIV, which is a virus that weakens the immune system of a cat but is not transmissible to humans or other species.
  • A cat with FIV may be overlooked, but with routine vet care and a loving home, cats who have FIV can live a long, healthy life.
  • Peanut is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations

Peanut’s Ideal Home

  • Peanut would thrive with a very patient, loving, and affectionate family/individual that understands her need to move at her own pace.
  • A stable home filled with kindness, consistency, and gentle encouragement would help her build confidence.
  • Peanut does not require medication but vet checkups twice a year are recommended.
  • A skittish cat will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children.
  • We are not sure how well Peanut will do in a household with other cats or dogs. She's now sharing a kennel with another cat so we will have a better sense of her tolerance for a feline companion in the near future.
  • Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Peanut settle into her new environment. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Peanut with a successful transition to her forever home.

Peanut has already shown incredible resilience. Now she needs someone willing to give her the time, care, and compassion she deserves. Could you be the loving family who helps Peanut feel safe and give her the forever home she has been waiting for? If so, apply to adopt her today!
