Carmella needs new roots!
Like a seed blowing in the wind looking for a soft place to land, Carmella (meaning garden) was living a life on the streets. Little is known about this time. What we do know is that we are here to nurture her until she can find a place to feel secure and flourish!
About Carmella
- At shelter
- Carmella is a skittish cat who has had minimal experience with humans. She is taking a little time to adjust to her new environment in the shelter.
- Carmella is currently enrolled in EHS’s socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help her become more comfortable around people.
- She is still shy, a bit scared, but very gentle. Some volunteers are able to pet her with a back-scratcher when she's feeling safe in her cubby.
- Carmella is very curious about the other cats and will chat with them when they come by her kennel. Otherwise, she tends to only come out of her safe space when she thinks no one is around and the shelter is quiet.
- Carmella has been spayed, and is microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and up to date on core vaccinations.
Carmella’s Ideal Home
- A skittish cat will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children.
- While Carmella appears to have some interest in the other cats at the shelter, we are uncertain at this point if she gets along with them. Her exposure to dogs is unknown.
- Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Carmella settle into her new environment. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Carmella with a successful transition to her forever home.
