We’re excited to share that after a period of rebuilding our team of volunteers and refreshing our kennel space, our shelter is once again filled with the sounds of happy barks from our newly arrived dogs — which is music to our ears.
You may know that in the fall of last year, we made the decision to temporarily reduce the number of dogs in our care after changes to our volunteer team. It wasn’t easy, but it allowed us to strengthen our dog program and develop a strong team of volunteers that are ready to care for our dogs and focus on finding them their forever families.
In the last few weeks, we’ve been busy welcoming new dogs into the shelter and foster homes, and we know they’ll be capturing the hearts of adopters in no time.
We want to recognize all the volunteers that continued to keep operations running during the slow down. Adoptions continued while we rebuilt the team, and it was thanks to their hard work and the dedication of our fosters that allowed us to find these dogs homes.
And a big thanks goes to our supporters who allow us to save as many animals as possible. We’re excited to see how many dogs can get a second chance at happiness this year due to your donations and other support.
We’re always looking for foster homes to help supplement our shelter spaces. Fostering is a rewarding and much-needed role, as it provides dogs with a home environment, which is helpful for our pups that find the shelter uncomfortable or stressful. Fostering allows them to truly relax and show off their personalities.
Check out our dog foster page for information on what’s involved with becoming a foster.
Our ultimate goal is to find homes for all of our animals. Check out our available dogs — you may just find your newest furry family member!
