Limited visitation for cats. See Details HERE

Fostering is a big part of our operations. It allows us to help more pets than we can fit in our shelter and also provides a home environment for animals that find shelter life overwhelming.
Dog fosters are especially important right now as we’ve temporarily paused housing dogs in the shelter as we rebuild our volunteer team.
When you foster, you're providing a temporary, safe, and loving home for a dog in need while we work to find them a permanent one.
EHS covers all vet expenses and provides food for the duration of the foster stay. All you need to provide is a safe space, time, and love.
There are always dogs in need and without foster homes, we can't take these dogs into our care. This can mean there are dogs spending time in municipal shelters putting them at risk for euthanasia. It could also mean an owner has nowhere to turn when they need to surrender their pet.
Because many of the dogs we rescue need time, training, or just a quiet environment to decompress, we ask that our fosters meet a few criteria:
You don’t need to be an expert; all you need is patience, commitment, and a willingness to help a dog transition to their forever home.
Fostering a dog is incredibly rewarding. You get to watch a dog’s transformation from scared and unsure, to confident and loving, all because of the safe space you provided. And when it’s time for them to go to their forever family, you’ll know you were a vital part of that journey.
If you've ever thought about fostering, now is the time. You could be the bridge between a shelter and a forever home. You could be the reason a dog gets a second chance.
