Open House Successes

Written by Becca Gordon

We have some extraordinarily awesome news!!

Cynthia, Ruby, Murray, Alfie, Norman, Wyeth and Bonnie (together) all found furever homes during our Cat Adoption Open House on July 21st. We are overjoyed for them! So many of our gorgeous floofs are on their way to their happily ever afters.

We are celebrating twice over as these adoptions serve a dual purpose 1) happy homes for cats in our care 2) making space for more cats in need and there are many more.

We had 54 groups for a total of 110 individuals through the shelter Saturday for our cat adoption open house. With 7 adoptions that day and over $400 in donations we’d say the day was a huge success. These guests enjoyed free food, tours of our cat shelter and met many of our furry charges.

Wyeth & Bonnie together forever

The event was organized by a dedicated and fantastic group of volunteers with the aim being; find great homes for several cats. We accomplished that and more. We raised awareness for our Small Shelter with the Big Heart as many guests to the shelter had never been before. We were able to drum up some new foster homes and got people thinking seriously about some of the cats still with us.

Saturday was the launch of our new adoption fees. The cost to take home a fully vet-checked, vaccinated, spayed or neutered, microchipped cat is now $150. Better yet, take home a pair and enjoy double the floofs for $250.

If you’ve thought about adoption, come check out the cats we have at the shelter or visit our Cat Adoption Page to read their bios.

Arya is still looking for a forever family.
