We are in the midst of a very large cruelty case rescue in which more than 50 cats have been kept in a single home. We have many cats available for adoption but our updates may be slow as our efforts are going to keeping these cats safe and in good care. We have more than 20 cats in our shelter that are not currently on our website - but their profiles will be posted as we ensure that they are healthy and adoptable. Please contact us at (416) 249-6100 if you would like to adopt an animal.

Lenny Kravitz

Lenny is an awesome cat. We named him Lenny Kravitz because we'd already named his siblings after current music icons but we really think the name suits him. He's quietly charming - just like his pop culture counterpart and of course all of the [female] volunteers love him. He's a great cat - loves to romp around in the shelter on his nights out. He looks at you with his bright little eyes, and you just know there's a little bit of mischief buried behind the good looks. He's known to let us hold him like a baby - and if that doesn't melt your heart we don't know what will. Lenny is vaccinated and will be neutered prior to adoption.

Fergie

Little Miss Fergie Ferg has had a rough start to her short life. She was born into a home where the owner passed away rather suddenly but fortunately for her their was a spot for her in our shelter. Fergie is shy but she's warmed up to us at EHS. She has the prettiest little face and she's very tiny for her age (born in October 2009). Fergie loves her time out at the shelter, and we're confident that a loving home will do wonders for her timidness. She's gentle and quiet but we have a feeling there's a fiesty playful kitten in her just waiting to come out. Fergie is vaccinated and will be spayed prior to adoption.

Kiwi

Despite her good looks, Kiwi is camera shy. She has a shiny black fur coat, which matches her gorgeous and diva-esque personality. Kiwi was abandoned in an appartment building - which is no way to treat a lady! She loves to talk, and even though you wouldn't know it from her figure - she loves to eat! When Kiwi is wandering the shelter we have to hide every sign of wet cat food because it's her favourite and when she smells it there really is no stopping her! And once you meet her, there will be no stopping the love you'll have for her either. She will undoubtedly fill her future home with laughter and love - but no other animals please, Kiwi believes in feline monogamy. Kiwi is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and ready for adoption!

Midnight

The first thing to note about Midnight is that she was surrendered with her sister Ester, and we would love it if they were adopted together. Now that we can have that out of the way, we can move onto talking about the adorable Miss Midnight. She's not as scandalous as her name would lead you to believe. In fact, she's boring in all of the best ways. In her world there's no muss or fuss, just delightful playful purr-ful moments. She has gorgeous long black fur that hides exactly how tiny she is underneath. Midnight is spayed, vaccinated, micro-chipped, and of course ready for adoption.

Black Tye

Black Tye is a girl - despite her manly name! She's got one of the biggest personalities in our shelter. Tye will never let you forget she's there when her cage is being cleaned - she's all over the volunteers! And when we sit down at the desk to do paperwork she's all over that too! Tye just loves affection and a good conversation. Sadly, she wasn't treated well in her last home and she came in as an abandonment/cruelty case. Her fur was very dull and dirty when we found her, but we've loved her into perfect shiny healthy shape. She's going to be a wonderful pet. Black Tye is spayed, vaccinated, micro-chipped and ready for adoption!

Jack Black

Jack Black is sort of like the human he was affectionately named after - he may take a while to warm up to you but once he can see that you're cool he's all charm and smiles (well, purrs anyway). Jack was one of the 18 cruelty cases that was brought to us during the holidays. You can probably see from the photo that he has a gorgeous long mane of fur - which is why his previous owners were using him for breeding - NOT cool! Jack deserves a better life than to be kept in a cage just for the sake of reproducing so we brought him to our shelter where we hope he'll meet the owner that will make up for lost time - and love - with him! Jack has been neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped and he's ready for adoption.

Esther

Esther is a sweet, young, energetic, attentive, intelligent, perky little tortie! There's really nothing else we can say about her - she's basically perfect. She's adapted very well to the shelter lifestyle, and gets along well with her roommate Midnight. The only thing Esther is lacking is a home. She's spayed, micro-chipped, vaccinated, and ready for adoption. NOTE: She was surrendered with her sister Midnight, and if we had our way they'd be adopted together - fingers (or paws) crossed!
